After nearly seven years as creative director, Raf Simons' final collection at Jil Sander last Saturday was so beautiful and romantic with its light, powdery colours and soft, ultra-feminine silhouettes. As a tearful Raf emerged to greet a roomful of standing ovations, the entire event felt strangely pure and, not to sound eye-rollingly mawkish, incredibly moving. I feel like booking a direct flight to Antwerp, just to give him a hug. Ms. Sander has got some very large shoes to fill.
